Mercedes has released a new video showing the SLR Stirling Moss ahead of its debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Power comes from a supercharged engine V8 that produces 650 hp (478 kW) allowing the roadster to run from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). In order to keep the car stable at such high speeds engineers went to work modifying the SLR's body with both historical style and downforce in mind.

Inspired by the original 1950's Mercedes 300 SLR and its legendary driver Sir Stirling Moss, the new SLR bares a striking resemblance to the classic racer. In order to create the remarkable appearance Mercedes neglected to add a roof, side windows, and a windshield. The company also designed two integrated air scoops that also serve as roll-over bars which gives the SLR a unique appearance and signals its racing pedigree.

Only 75 units of the €750,000 SLR Stirling Moss will be produced starting in June 2009, when the last one is built it will mark the end of production of the Mercedes-McLaren SLR.

The automobile manufacturer Carlsson who is specialised on Mercedes Benz, extends its co-operation with the leather lifestyle brand Etienne Aigner AG and will exhibit the world premiere of the Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS “Eau Rouge“ Dark Edition at the Zürich Auto Show. Produced in small series, the luxury coupé is available with either a V12 Bi-Turbo with 705 hp or a second power level with 756 hp and 1,150 Nm.

The newly designed car front dominates the exceptional appearance. Both the front skirt with a front spoiler made of solid carbon as well as the car paint which renders appealing contrasts in two colours are eye-catchers. The special line Dark Edition of Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS “Eau Rouge“ which is produced in small series and limited to only ten cars, is exclusively available in the double-coloured combination obsidian black metallic with Himalaya-gray. Shaded Bi-Xenon headlights with cone-shaped lights and the radiator grill with the jumping Carlsson horse perfect the front appearance.

Moreover, the sides are dominated by the three-part forged rims in 21”. The glazed finished surface of the light alloy rims manufactured in forged technology, offers an absolutely masterful appearance.

The idea, concept, preparation and finish especially show the performance efficiency of the Automobile Manufactory Carlsson. The Carlsson Aigner CK65 “Eau Rouge“ Dark Edition surely is the most impressive proof for the successful synergy of two brands into a technically as well as creatively demanding automobile. Prices for the Carlsson Aigner CK65 ”Eau Rouge“ Dark Edition with V12 is start from 319,000 euros and for the V12 with Carlsson-Bi-Turbo in the second power stage from 374,000 euros.

Photo Update: Wald International Bentley Continental GT Sports Line Black Bison

Back in July Japanese based tuner Wald International showed us their plans for the Bentley Continental GT with some design renderings. Now they have released plenty of quality studio photos of the real car showing the full body kit in detail.
Under Wald's aggressive Black Bisson Edition, the Conti GT body kit is hard edged with louvered styling elements. It consists of a front bumper spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper spoiler, trunk spoiler and roof spoiler. Other components available include suspension lowering kit and D.T.M sports muffler exhaust system. The price for only the body kit is listed (tax included in Japan) as YEN 1,522,500 (approx. 16,000 USD or 12,850 EUR).

Amazing what a new set of wheels can do to the appearance of a car, a car that already is eye-catching in standard garb. Hamann, the German tuning house introduced these EDITION RACE wheels; FA 9.0Jx21 with tyres 245/30ZR21 and RA 12.5Jx21 with tyres 345/45ZR21 to the Maserati GranTurismo and altered its look.
GT from Maserati is a two-door 2+2 seater with a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that kicks out 405hp at 7,100rpm and 460Nm at 4,750rpm. These Hamann wheels are just priming the GT for a later engine and power upgrade, and maybe even a few physical changes. Watch this space.
